Honeymoon Day 6 and 7: Denver Drive to Homeward Bound

(See Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5 if you missed them)

It was a mildly bittersweet morning because we knew we were heading back to Denver for the final leg of our trip. We woke up and got everything cleaned up and put away according to the directions left by the cabin owner (they had a LOOOOOOONNNGGG list of things to do so we wouldn't get fined).

Then we left and made our way to Denver. On our way out we stopped by The Hungry Bear to get some pancakes!

The drive was once again beautiful and mountain-filled. It's amazing how the mountains seem to creep up on you so slow and then all of a sudden you turn around and you're in them! I could drive around the mountains for days and not get bored.

We made our way to Denver and found our final lodging for the trip: a hotel suite. Thanks to my hotel points through work, we had a huge suite to relax in for our final night....FREE!

By this point, we were a little hungry but still wanted to save room for our fancy dinner. Did someone say Menchie's?? We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the shopping mall area looking for last minute souvenirs and just enjoying the mountain air.

Hours later, we walked back to the hotel to get ready for our final dinner in Colorado....it was a good one!!!

We took our first Uber ride ever so we could leave the car, enjoy some drinks, and not have to worry about downtown Denver driving.

Populist was phenomenal! We had their tasting menu, paired with some drinks. We both love tasting menus and this one was no different. There were sishito peppers that weren't as hot as I expected them, but still tasty. I really liked the black bean soup, YUM! And so many more courses that it was hard to keep track. I do know that Bryan enjoyed both his original and creative Old Fashioned drinks.

From here, it was a simple Uber drive back to the hotel (where our driver got super lost for a second before finally getting us there safe and sound), and then final packing before bed.

Our final day was nothing too exciting. We woke up and had breakfast at the hotel before loading our bags and heading to drop off our car.

From Enterprise, we hopped the shuttle bus to the airport and waited for our flight to head on home. I'm pretty sure I slept a large majority of the flight home. It was a full, exciting, exhausting trip that was worth every moment!

So.....can we go back now?
